The office of Placer Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is located in Roseville, California. Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons are the only dental specialists who, after completing dental school, are surgically trained in an accredited hospital for four or more years after dental school. This training is alongside medical residents and includes rotations and exposure to several medical specialty areas (internal medicine, general surgery, anesthesia, otolaryngology, plastic surgery and emergency medicine) The Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons training focuses on the hard (i.e. bone) and soft (i.e. skin, muscle and oral soft tissue) of the face, mouth, and jaws. Their knowledge and surgical expertise uniquely qualify them to diagnose and treat functional and esthetic conditions in this anatomical area. - Wisdom Tooth Removal

- Exposure of impacted teeth to aid orthodontic eruption

- Biopsies of lesions in the oral cavity

- Treatment of facial fractures and facial trauma
- Evaluation and treatment of TMJ disorders

Dr. Rotas began his private practice in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1986. He is a member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, American Dental Association, California Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, California Dental Association, and Sacramento District Dental Society.
Dr. Rotas has devoted his professional career to all diagnosis and treatment of all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery practice with special interests in the treatment of impacted wisdom teeth; placement of dental implants and grafting of bone for dental implant placement; treatment of cysts, masses or tumors of the jaws; trauma of upper and lower jaws and teeth; corrective surgery of the jaws and treatment of Bisphosphonate related necrosis of the jaws ( BRONJ)
Most of the above surgeries are done in an office setting under local anesthesia; oral premedication and local anesthesia; or IV Anesthesia. If required, due to extent of surgery or some medical conditions, the procedures can be performed in a hospital setting. Currently Dr. Rotas is affiliated with Sutter Roseville Medical Center, Mercy Hospital (Dignity Health), Kaiser Roseville, and Kaiser Morse Avenue Medical Centers.
Our surgical staff members are experienced, certified oral and maxillofacial surgical assistants. They assist in surgical procedures and in the administration of I.V. sedation. Our administrative personnel are ready to answer all your questions relating to insurance, payment and scheduling.
Our staff is trained in assisting with Intravenous (IV) sedation or outpatient general anesthesia in our state-of-the-art office setting. Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery.
